On love, life, work and so on..

First of all let me say I am one grateful human being for all the good things in my life I am married to the love of my
life Kerry Walker,and even though life intrudes sometimes (a lot!) I know we love each other deeply and we strive to keep things in perspective.
Secondly, on my job. Actually, it is not a job but a calling. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant with a major Home Health Agency and I work with physically disabled
clients. I have learned so many things from my clients..patience, acceptance, humility and most of all, an empathy I did not know I had. It can be both physically and emotionally demanding, and lots of times I come home empty inside having left all my emotions with my clients. I realize this cannot be good, and I am working on this. But the good outweighs the bad, and I am grateful these people are in my life.
Last, but not least, there is my life which is really summed up by the above mentioned things..and one thing I guess that keeps me going. That is my faith..not just the Christian faith, but the faith I have that no matter how bad things are, and when things look really bleak, there is a brighter day. Not to sound pollyanna, but that is what life has taught me..just stand out of the way, just BE, and let life roll on...

So a year has passed since you came
Into my life
You became my husband

So many things we have seen and done

A happy birthday for my husband Kerry

Well, yesterday (February 26th 2010) was a wonderful day. It was my husband's birthday.I had planned a trip to Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountains as he had never been. In retrospect it was one of my better decisions. We had a Wonderful time. I had been there many times before, but seeing it through Kerry's eyes made a big difference. Kerry wanted to go to the highest peak (Clingmans Dome on Mt. Leconte) about 6,800 ft. up but it was blocked due to 40 ins. of snow there. We did make it to Newfound Gap which is over 5,000 feet. There was around 9 ins. of snow there...very, very cold, and very, very windy!!!!!!

We also went to the Wind Tunnel in Pigeon Forge. Kerry thought
this was very cool as he is a skydiver and he thought it would be
a great way to teach someone to skydive.

But I guess the highlight of the day (for him and me) was that on
the way home Kerry spotted a Mellow Mushroom Pizzeria. He did not know
there was one in that part of Tennessee and as I had never been we went
and I have to say it was the Bomb! They make all their dough
from natural ingredients so it is not only healthy but tastes great.

All in all it was a wonderful day and we already have plans to go back
and hike some of the nature trails there..especially one called Laurel Falls
as there is a Laurel Falls here in Rhea County that we have already hiked to.

Now back to waiting on warmer weather!

Oh, yea...we did some Go Kart racing and I kicked his tail..
(not really, although the attendent told Kerry he saw where I tried to run him over!)

Mrs. Walker

Well, yes I did get married to the Love of my Life. No planning or anything. Although we had talked about marriage for awhile, we just got up Monday morning and said "Let's get married." And so we did and are very happy. Surprised just about everyone but that's O.K. Wyn, Kerry's brother went along for the ride, and I was very happy to have him along. Kerry and I still reside in Evensville with our "children" MoJo, Mia and Laurel Snow ( aka Kitty Lou) . Kerry works at Advance Auto Parts in Dayton, and I work for two Home Health companies as a Nursing Assistant/Direct Support Staff. Needless to say our lives are very hectic (but happy). Hiking and all that stuff seems to be sort of a thing of the past right now, but come Spring we'll be back in action (hopefully!) We are also planning a Native American spiritual ceremony sometime in the future.
